Let it Snow
For the past month I have been extremely eager to see a lot of snow in Boone. Like the amount of snow we got last year right before Valentines Day. It was so fun just to go out and play in it with my roommate, Sydney. Also I would really love to try skiing again...and yes I know they have machines at the ski slopes that make and blow snow, but I think it would better after theres been a snow storm. Well since were on the subject I suppose I'll tell you about my skiing experience. So this year for my birthday, which was on January 11th, me and my best friend went to Beech Mountain. Her grandparents actually own a house that is within walking distance of the slopes, so it was very convenient. We brought some friends with us, so altogether there was about 10 of us. Now let me just mention that this was my first time EVER going skiing. I had no idea how to ski, but everyone told me that all I had to know was "Pizza and french fries." Let me just say that those words did not help me that much for the first 2 hours of skiing and after hearing them over 60 times in one day it makes you never want to hear those words again. May I also just add that I was the only person in this group that had never been skiing before. Rachel, my best friend, has skied pretty much her entire life, so she is pretty good and rarely falls the entire time. So she promised me that she would teach me and stay with me the entire time. Well for those of you that have been skiing and are actually good at it know that when you go to ski you actually want to ski and not have to wait on someone who is falling down every minute. So this is how it was for me for the first two hours of skiing and I had almost convinced myself by this time that I would never try skiing again. Thankfully I started to improve and could actually make it down the majority of the slopes without falling more than twice. So by the end of it I really enjoyed skiing and I would love to go again! Also I pretty much could not move for the next two days, because I literally felt like someone had beaten me. I had very large bruises all over my legs and arms. But the experience was totally worth the pain.

I have also really wanted to see some snow this year. I have never skied either and have a feeling I would fall a lot. Maybe before I graduate I will go!
